Price monitoring for e-shops

Monitoring of competitor prices in online shops

Monitoring competitors’ prices is a key element when implementing and controlling an online shop’s pricing strategy. With the Dealavo module, online shops using the Google Analytics tool (GA4) will be able to:

  • continuously adjust the prices of their products to the prices offered by the market in order to maximise the level of sales of the goods offered while maintaining an adequate level of profit,
  • use the competitors’ assortment reports to update their own goods base and remain competitive in the market.

What is GA4?

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is an analytics platform developed by Google that enables detailed tracking and analysis of user behaviour on websites and apps. In the context of price monitoring for online shops, integration with GA4 significantly expands the analytical and strategic capabilities of the platform.

GA4 integration with Dealavo

For a price monitoring tool, the main objective is to analyse the price competitiveness of products in the market. However, price alone is not everything – sales data and user behaviour are equally important to show how a given price affects sales effectiveness.

Integration with GA4 allows price data to be linked to sales and marketing data, opening up new possibilities for analysis.

What do you gain from integration?

  • GA_ITEM_REVENUE – shows the real revenue per SKU, allowing the profitability of a pricing strategy to be assessed.
  • GA_PURCHASE_TO_VIEW_RATE – conversion rate from product view to purchase. This allows you to analyse whether a lower price actually translates into an increase in conversions.
  • GA_ITEMS_VIEWED – allows you to determine interest in a particular product regardless of sales.
  • GA_ITEMS_PURCHASED – indicates the number of units sold, which can be contrasted with price and number of impressions.

Frequently asked questions

What applications of Dealavo should GA4 users look out for?

Firstly – you will understand the market you are in – its size, dynamics and major players.
Secondly – you will increase your competitiveness by reacting quickly to price changes. We will tell you what price you should set for your product.
Third – we explain where your revenue changes are coming from.
Fourth – you will detect the timing of price wars in your industry.
You will be able to analyse all this data in a clear and understandable way, saving time and money on tedious, manual price analyses of online shops, price comparison sites and other marketplaces.

How much does it cost to integrate Dealavo with GA4?

With us, you pay for the price monitoring of your products, which you track in our panel. Prices are set individually depending on the breadth of your product range and the extent of the monitoring. There is no one-size-fits-all price, but don’t worry, you won’t pay blind. There is a 7-day trial period and if you provide us with your feed or part of it, we will set up your account and start the first analyses already.

How often can the system update the prices in my shop itself based on the price rules?

Thanks to the Dynamic Pricing platform, an algorithm, acting on the basis of the acquired data and predetermined rules, can propose a price that will be attractive to the customer and, at the same time, guarantee the business an optimal return on sales. This can be updated up to several times a day (Dynamic Pricing).

What data does Dealavo need?

The necessary parameters for Dealavo are:
– product name,
– EAN (only for CounterPrice product),
– Product ID.

A strongly recommended parameter is the gross purchase price, through which the user can set limits to the suggested prices in the system, based on a minimum margin or mark-up.

Other parameters that Dealavo can retrieve are:
– gross retail price,
– minimum gross price,
– maximum gross price,
– gross list price,
– crossed gross price.

How can I link products from Dealavo’s feed to products in GA4?

The integration with GA4 is based on pulling (via API) additional data per SKU and advertising campaign information. The data downloaded is the last 30 days (counting up to the last full day, i.e. the day before the current day).

Where does Dealavo send its price suggestions?

Dealavo, based on the pricing rules set by the user, generates gross retail price suggestions, which are sent to the gross retail price column for the shop. If the user wants to set the price on different channels, the price is sent to the column corresponding to the selected channel.
